St. John's College of Liberal Arts and Sciences
Class of 2020
Mckenzie M. Halwas is from Milwaukee, WI, and originally chose St. John’s because she wanted to go somewhere new and exciting—what better place than New York City!
After being here for four years, she realizes that there are many other reasons why she would choose St. John’s all over again. The University gives Mckenzie the platform to become actively involved in the local community by engaging in a variety of service opportunities, including Midnight Runs, Girls on the Run, and Relay For Life. She has been able to take on leadership roles through the sorority she joined during her first year and through her on-campus job at the University’s Call Center. These experiences have helped her excel in her major of Government and Politics and secure internships with local politicians and nonprofit organizations.
“I have thrived at St. John’s and gratefully plan to give back to alma mater by volunteering and contributing to the mission of St. John’s now and in the future,” Mckenzie said. She looks forward to graduating in May with a bachelor’s degree from St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Science.
