A Food and Wine Pairing Experience at Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery

Tuesday, October 13 at 1 p.m.

This week, we invite you to hear from Chef Daniel DiGiacomo and Heather Consoli, Vineyard Manager of Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery owned by Mark Misk '91CBA for A Food and Wine Pairing Experience at Clovis Point Vineyard & Winery.

If you would to taste the wines while joining the call, you may place an order of the wines through Clovis Point (www.clovispointwines.com or 631-722-4222) by Friday, October 2. (Please make sure you mention St. John's Power Hour when placing the order).

Chef Daniel DiGiacomo

Born and raised in Brooklyn, Chef Daniel DiGiacomo grew up in a tight-knit Italian American family. He spent a lot of time in his grandmother’s kitchen where there were often several pots cooking as she was prepared family meals for holidays, and Sunday dinners using simple ingredients. He was inspired by how her food brought his increasingly busy family together, made them happy, and created long-lasting memories. Chef Danny went on to study at New York City College of Technology and earned a Bachelor of Technology in Hospitality Management.

From there, Chef Danny held professional positions with the Peninsula Hotel in Manhattan, Hotel Plaza Athenee, The Union Club of New York, and The Penn Club of New York. As a chef in the business for almost twenty years, he looks forward to new challenges and keeping up with the evolving gastronomic trends in this fast-paced industry. In 2001, the partners of Clovis Point purchased 10 acres of farmland with a beautiful barn in the heart of the North Fork on the Main Road in Jamesport. They had a dream of creating a small top-flight vineyard, winery, and wine room for lovers of good wine.

Today, the warm inviting tasting room, a renovated potato barn, crowns those 10 acres, now under vine. It has top-notch vineyard management and award-winning winemaking. The estate vineyard includes merlot and cabernet franc clones. While the partners hope that their own grapes will provide the backbone of the signature reds, their goal will always be to make remarkably good and interesting wines from the best fruit North Fork vineyards can provide.
