St John’s alumni’s have full access to all services and resources, including access to Handshake, so you can receive e-mail about upcoming events and special opportunities.

Alumni Professional Development Series

St. John’s University’s Alumni Professional Development Series provides online learning from top alumni and industry experts. The St. John's Corporate and Foundations group hand-selects individuals who will discuss topics for business professionals seeking professional growth and those interested in learning about the latest trends in their industry.

Career Services FAQs

It is never too late. St. John’s University Career Services provides you full access to one on one advising and events for one year after you graduate. Log in to your Handshake Account to book your appointment with your Career Advisor. On your homepage, click on Career Center and then Appointments to connect to your Career Advisor’s calendar. The meeting can be held virtually or in person. Or call Career Services – 718-990-6375.

 After one year, you can still meet with a Career Advisor, but the dates and frequency are limited.

The Career Team is available throughout the summer, either on-campus or virtually.

Not all - but you have access to many of your Career Services resources. Your Handshake account is your gateway to sites such as Big Interview, Candid Career, and others.

We strongly recommend that you change your email access for your Handshake

Account to a non-St. John’s email address because you typically lose access to your school email address one year after graduation.

Yes. You are welcome to attend our Fall and Spring Career Fairs and select events for alumni. You can find these events and register through your Handshake account.

Your LinkedIn Account is a good first step. You can also connect through the St. John’s University Website - Alumni and Friends.
