Kingsborough Community College

In order to help the transfer student with the process, St. John’s University has prepared this Transfer Guide for the Kingsborough Community College. Priority in admissions and junior status is granted to Kingsborough Community College students who have met all the requirements for an Associated Degree with a minimum of 60 credit hours exclusive of developmental/remedial course work. Achieving a grade point average of no less than a 3.0 based on a 4.0 scale at Kingsborough Community College. This agreement allows students in the AA Liberal Arts Degree to transfer seamlessly into the Childhood Education and Secondary Education programs at St. John’s University.

The transfer student, who has excelled in the classroom, may qualify for one of our generous scholarship programs.  Students with a G.P.A. of 2.5 or better are eligible for transfer scholarships ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 per year based on our evaluation of the FAFSA form. Special consideration will be provided to Kingsborough Community College Phi Theta Kappa members and Honors Program participants. Phi Theta Kappa members will receive an additional $2,000 toward their first year tuition. All pending graduates of Kingsborough Community College, who apply to transfer to St. John’s, will have the application fee waived.  Finally, St. John’s University will provide a laptop computer for each registered, incoming transfer student.
