George is entering his 27th year in the Sports Management industry. Currently, he manages all aspects of tournament operations for the U.S. Open Tennis Championships, the U.S. Open Series and Team Events. The U.S. Open Series is a collection of 7 North American professional tennis tournaments held during the 5 weeks leading into the U.S. Open Tennis Championships. Team Events are tournaments supporting the U.S. Davis Cup and Fed Cup teams.
He is a well-rounded sports executive who has worked in media communications, facility operations, league operations, event management and multi-cultural sports marketing.
He has worked for sports entities such as the New Jersey Devils, the New Jersey Sports & Exposition Authority, Major League Baseball, the Newark Bears, New York Red Bulls and now, the United States Tennis Association. At these organizations, he’s had the privilege of directing the operations of events such as the FIFA World Cup, Stanley Cup Finals, NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four Championship, and the US Open Tennis Championships.
Through the formation of his own event management company, he has counseled and directed management teams for events such as the World Baseball Classic, the Caribbean Baseball World Series, the Barclay’s New York World Football Challenge at Red Bull Arena, the BNP Paribas Tennis Showdown at Madison Square Garden and the Serie de Las Americas Professional Baseball Tournament at Marlins Park, Miami, FL.
He is a 1991 graduate of St. Vincent’s College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Administration. George is a lifelong resident of New Jersey, and is married with three children.
