Jim Tomlinson is Executive in Charge of Production for several network and syndicated programs since 2012. These include: $100,000 Pyramid w/ Michael Strahan-(ABC), Best Time Ever with Neil Patrick Harris-(NBC), Who Wants to be a Millionaire, Katie Couric Show, & The Alec Baldwin Show-(ABC), Misery Index-(TBS), & Page Six TV –(FOX)

From 2004 to 2012, Jim served as Vice President of Production & Operations, AETN, Inc. He oversaw the production units of A&E, History, Biography and Lifetime cable networks. He also directly produced a number of series and specials, including “Biography,” “Live by Request,” “60th Anniversary of VJ Day” and AETN’s “Sting and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestra” at Red Rocks, Colorado.

From 1994 to 2004, Jim was for Associate Director of Production – ABC News & Special Events, “Good Morning America” (GMA). In this position, responsibilities included: program budget, staffing and union/staff contract negotiations and the supervision of daily studio operations, field packages and live remote operations and led production logistics for national and international full show originations for GMA. Special Events coverage under his supervision included Super Bowl XXIX and XXXIV, Princess Diana Funeral Coverage, Walt Disney World 25th Anniversary Celebration and ABC’s 2000 Millennium coverage. Jim also supervised the GMA transition to Times Square Studios and served as program liaison with the New York City Mayor’s office.

In 2000, Jim was named Executive Director of Production and Operations, ABC News – Primetime Magazine Programs. He managed all operational, financial and production elements for ABC Network including “20/20,” “Primetime,” “ABC News Specials” and ABC News Productions, from initial budget through broadcast.

He has been recognized with several Emmy Award, Peabody Award, and Columbia DuPont Awards for ABC News Special Events coverage of the 9/11 terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center and for ABC News 2000 - Millennium coverage, among other awards and commendations. Jim is a proud graduate of SJU and earned his Bachelor of Science in Communications Arts (’82) and a Masters of Business Administration in Marketing and Management (’91). Jim also serves on the Advisory Board for College of Professional Studies. Jim is a member of the Directors’ Guild of America and the Producers’ Guild of America.

Jim and his wife Rita live in Wayne New Jersey and have two children James (SJU ‘12) & Kelly both also reside with their spouses in New Jersey.
