Dr. Ying Liu is an Assistant Professor in the Division of Computer Science, Mathematics and Science, College of Professional Studies, St. John’s University. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Science from Georgia Institute of technology. Since then, he has been teaching in colleges and Universities. He has extensive experience in Database, Data mining, Text mining, Information systems design and development, Bioinformatics, and Computational Biology. His substantive area publications appear in journals such as IEEE Transaction on Knowledge and Data Engineering, IEEE/ACM Transaction on Computational Biology and Bioinformatics, IEEE Transaction on Information Technology in Biomedicine, Bioinformatics, Journal of Bioinformatics and Computational Biology. He has been actively involved in community service by organizing academic conferences, serving journal paper reviewers and book series advisory board. He is a life-time member of Association of Computational Machinery (ACM).
