Susan Rabinowicz, PT, DPT, Ph.D., is an Assistant Professor for the Doctor of Physical Therapy program at St. John’s University in the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences. She earned her doctorate in Health and Rehabilitation Sciences from Stony Brook University in 2017, with a concentration in Behavioral and Community Health.

Dr. Rabinowicz earned a Knowledge Translation Professional Certification in 2018 and has been a faculty member in the Academy of Pediatric Physical Therapy Knowledge Broker Network (KBNet) program. Her clinical experience is in pediatric physical therapy, with a focus on early intervention.

Engagement with community organizations that focus on equitable distribution of resources and services to families and young children is a particular interest of Dr. Rabinowicz. Her research focuses on the practice and science of knowledge translation/implementation science. Dr. Rabinowicz’s research agenda is guided by fostering relationships among educators, researchers, practitioners, students, and community leaders in a social environment to develop actionable research findings. Her teaching interests are in the areas of pediatrics; the psychosocial aspects of practice; professional identity formation; and community health, wellness, and prevention.
