Prosecution Clinic

What We Do

Offered in partnership with the Bronx, Nassau, Queens, and Suffolk District Attorneys' Offices, the full-year Prosecution Clinic allows students to experience the criminal justice system at work – not just by observing, but by prosecuting real cases. Working under the supervision of assistant district attorneys, clinic students handle all aspects of criminal prosecutions, from arraignments to motion hearings and trials.

Public Interest Center

What We Do

For over 10 years, the Public Interest Center at St. John's Law has been dedicated to fostering a commitment to service by supporting and expanding various initiatives in line with the University's Vincentian mission. The Center provides a range of opportunities for students to explore and engage in public interest law and pro bono work, underscoring the legal professional’s duty in promoting social justice and serving the public good.

Refugee and Immigrant Rights Litigation Clinic

What We Do

The Refugee and Immigrant Rights Litigation Clinic is a full-year litigation clinic offered in partnership with the Immigration Legal Services Department of Catholic Charities in New York City. Under the supervision of senior attorneys, students represent immigrants – many refugees and asylees – in proceedings at the administrative level and the appeals level. Students also represent children who were victims of abuse or neglect in their home countries in both family and immigration court.

Securities Arbitration Clinic

What We Do

The Securities Arbitration Clinic is part of the St. Vincent de Paul Legal Program, Inc. It is a one-semester clinic staffed by second and third-year law students who help represent under-served investors in securities arbitration claims before the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA).  Typical claims involve misrepresentation, unsuitability, unauthorized trading, excessive trading (aka churning), and failure to supervise.

The Applied Finance Institute

What We Do

The mission of the Applied Finance Institute is to promote the activities of the Tobin College that are related to the practice of finance for the benefit of our finance students. The Institute will provide a focal point, encouraging an applied and experiential learning environment, relevant to the practice of finance, in order to prepare Tobin finance students for successful careers.

University Writing Center

What We Do

Our writing consultants are St. John’s students ready to support your writing process in one-on-one sessions. Consultations emphasize your individual goals as a writer, your unique voice, and your autonomy in navigating the writing process. From brainstorming research topics to cleaning up your final drafts, we’re here to collaborate with you. We work with students across all colleges, supporting the diversity of disciplines, majors, cultures, and identities that make up our university.

Veterans Success Center

What We Do

The mission of the St. John’s University Veterans Success Center (VSC) is to support student veterans at St. John’s University in their pursuit of higher education. The VSC assists student veterans with successful transitioning from military service to University life through networking opportunities, resources, community service, and advocacy. The VSC aims to foster an environment honoring military service and improving the quality of their University experience.

Vincentian Center for Church and Society

What We Do

The Vincentian Center for Church and Society (VCCS) at St. John’s University has deep roots in the Catholic Church…While many of the Center’s activities link the University to local communities and the Church of Metropolitan New York, its reach extends to numerous national and international projects.

Vincentian Mission Institute

What We Do

The Vincentian Mission Institute (VMI) is a collaborative, two-year program, initiated and facilitated by DePaul University, that brings together selected faculty and staff from St. John’s University, DePaul University, and Niagara University (approximately 10 participants from each institution) in order to educate and engage lay faculty and staff in the history and future of Vincentian and Catholic higher education, social teaching, and ministry.
