Dr. Park comes to St. John’s University as an Assistant Professor in the Division of Administration and Economics. He earned his Ph.D. in hospitality management from Kansas State University and both his M.S. and B.S. in tourism science from Hanyang University in South Korea. He worked for tourism research institutes, a newspaper company, and Sheraton Hotel. His teaching interests are in service management, marketing strategies, and hospitality analytics. He has taught many courses related to hospitality operation, tourism marketing, event planning, and organization management. He developed a new course for hospitality undergraduate students to learn social media analytics with various cases such as hotels, restaurants, events, and travel destinations. He has published more than 10 research papers in peer-reviewed journals, including several SSCI journals and top-tier journals. His main research topics are social media analytics, customer/traveler experience, and tourism for disabled travelers.
