Robert B. Lewis, Ph.D.
Lewis comes to St. John’s University as an Assistant Professor in the Theology and Religious Studies department. He received his Ph.D. in Theology, New Testament, from Fordham University. He has taught undergraduate classes in New Testament, Old Testament, and Theology. He has also taught graduate-level courses in Greek, Hermeneutics, and Biblical Theology. Lewis has taught at Manhattan College, Fordham University, General Theological Seminary, and Wesley Biblical Seminary. His research interests include the New Testament, Paul and Paul’s theology, Roman Empire studies, Karl Barth, Trinitarian theology, and the Old Testament prophets. He has written on the intersection of the Imperial Cult and Paul’s letter to the Romans
