Regan Penaluna has been teaching in the Philosophy Department since 2009. Prior to her arrival at St. John’s University, she was an assistant professor at Luther College in Iowa, which is her home state. In 2007, she obtained her Ph.D. from Boston University where she was also awarded the “Best Teaching Fellow Award” for outstanding teaching.
In addition to scholarship, she has published popular articles on philosophy and feminist topics. You can find some of them at The Chronicle of Higher Education, Philosophy Now, and The Philosophers’ Magazine.
If she is not working on her book about early modern women philosophers, or how she would respond to a current feminist debate, then she is probably hanging out at home in Brooklyn and making pizza with her husband and her son.
