Peter P. Cardalena, Jr, is an Associate Professor of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies and has lectured for the Nassau County Bar Association. A private practitioner, Professor Cardalena maintained his own law practice in Floral Park, New York 11001, now turned over to his daughter Kim. Listed in Who’s Who in American Law and American Education, he has served as Articles Editor for the Touro Law Review. His article, “ Calculating Municipal Pensions for Equitable Distribution Purposes,” was published by the Family Law Review. His informational book, “A Guide to Your Pension,” is considered a definitive work for members of the City of New York Pension System. Additionally, he has co-authored the well-received “From Contract to Closing: A Primer on Real Estate Practice,” is now in its third printing. For twenty-five years he has been contributing editor of the “Call Box”, the official publication of the Long Island Shields. Professor Cardalena served as counsel to the Superior Officers of the New York City Transit Police Department, where he retired as a Lieutenant after serving the City of New York for twenty-three years. He is a member of the College of Professional Studies Honor Society and the Golden Key Honor Society. He is the recipient of the 2014 College of Professional Studies Professor of the years, having received the same award many times in his 27 year career at the College. The University has recognized him with the prestigious Outstanding Faculty Achievement Award. Married to his wife Rosaliie for 52 years, they had five children and fourteen grandchildren.
