On Wednesday, September 22, 2021, at 2:03 a.m., two students reported being the victims of a robbery while off campus. The students said that as they walked on Parsons Boulevard toward 79th Avenue they were approached by a silver Toyota RAV4 with a temporary New Jersey license plate 173578T.
The vehicle was occupied by three males and one female. Two of the males exited the vehicle and demanded the students’ property. One of the males grabbed a wristlet wallet hanging from one of the student’s wrists, breaking the strap. The male then unsuccessfully attempted to take the student’s cell phone from her hand. After completing the robbery, the males entered the silver vehicle and fled the location. One student suffered a minor injury.
If the vehicle is observed, notify 911 and the Department of Public Safety at 718-990-5252 as soon as possible.
The New York City Police Department responded and is investigating this incident as part of a pattern of robberies that are occurring throughout the borough of Queens.
