The Department of Public Safety advises our community to be cautious while walking in the area of the rear of St. John Hall. We have a mother hawk on campus with her chicks. Hawks become territorial as they protect the young in their nest. In two recent incidents, the mother struck community members who were walking in the area.
On the advice of an expert, the parking area in the rear of St. John Hall will be temporarily closed until further notice. In addition, we ask our community not to enter or exit the building via the basement rear and wing doors for the next two weeks. Please stay alert while in this area of the campus: walk quickly and look up often.
Thank you, as always, for your patience and cooperation.
