On Thursday, May 16, 2019, at 8:24 p.m., a female student reported to the University’s Department of Public Safety that as she was waiting for the bus across the street from the Queens campus on Union Turnpike and 171 Street, she was the victim of indecent exposure. A male in a white SUV (pictured below), with New York State license plate HBF-2505, pulled to the curb, opened the passenger window, and exposed himself to the student. He fled the location in the vehicle traveling westbound on Union Turnpike toward 170 Street. The male made no attempt to speak with or touch the student.
The New York City Police Department was notified and is investigating.
If this vehicle is observed, immediately notify 911 and Public Safety at 718-990-5252.
Remember to always be cognizant of your surroundings and walk with others whenever possible. If you are alone, do not wear headphones when you walk. Similarly, if you observe any type of suspicious activity, immediately notify 911 and Public Safety.
