On Friday, March 15, 2019, at 1:10 p.m., the Department of Public Safety received a complaint concerning the theft of property from a University employee’s unattended handbag located in an office in St. Augustine Hall. Multiple credit cards were taken from the handbag and later used at a nearby department store.
Public Safety conducted an investigation and determined the male pictured below and another (no picture available) entered the campus in a white, four-door Acura—with New York license plate JEN-3928—via Gate 7 at 12:07 p.m. After completing the theft, the male pictured below exited the campus via Gate 1 and entered the same vehicle, which was parked at the curb.
After working with surrounding colleges and universities, Public Safety learned that both males were subsequently arrested.
Please notify Public Safety immediately at 718-990-5252 if you have any information concerning this incident.
Public Safety reminds the University community to always secure all doors when leaving a room or office. If you observe any type of suspicious activity on or off campus, immediately notify 911 and Public Safety.
