As we prepare to return to campus for the spring semester, we continue to implement ways to protect your health and that of our community. During the last month, there has been a surge in COVID-19 cases from the rapidly spreading Omicron variant across our region and the country. Unfortunately, NYC is reporting a 32% positivity rate.
If you have symptoms of COVID-19 or have tested positive for COVID-19, do not come to campus. Please complete the COVID-19 Notification Form and consult with a healthcare provider.
All students and employees are required to get a booster before January 19, 2022, or as soon as they are eligible. Getting your vaccine booster is the best protection against the Omicron variant.
We have received many questions regarding the revised guidelines from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Please note that isolation guidelines across New York State have not changed for those who test positive for COVID-19 regardless of vaccination and booster status. You must isolate yourself for 10 days and follow the direction of your healthcare provider. If you are outside of New York State, you need to consult with your local health department and healthcare provider to comply with all local regulations.
We are monitoring these guidelines, and we will notify you should NYC or NYS adopt changes.
Having our employees and students fully vaccinated with the booster will enable us to more safely engage in campus events, programs, and activities. We appreciate your cooperation in making these changes.
