Thanks to the generosity of alumni, three sixth-year Pharm.D. students in St. John’s University’s College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences traveled last October with the Glens Falls Medical Mission Foundation to establish and operate a one-week makeshift medical clinic in Nueva Santa Rosa, Guatemala, an underserved community near Guatemala City—and they all agree it proved to be a life-changing experience.

While balancing a heavy teaching load with in-depth research activities, three toxicology graduate students at St. John’s recently participated in a special program targeting an often overlooked aspect of an academic’s professional growth—developing “soft” or interpersonal abilities.
Inspiring young women from local middle and high schools to pursue degrees in the Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) fields, St. John’s University hosted 50 eighth- and ninth-graders for a day of hands-on learning this summer as part of the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum’s GOALS for Girls program.
By the time they march at Commencement, St. John's graduates are ready to make a difference.
St. John’s University conferred more than 2,200 undergraduate degrees at its Staten Island and Queens, NY, campuses, on May 20 and 21, as leaders from business and the Church congratulated students during Commencement Exercises marking the institution’s 147th academic year.
