Sean Sugrue, a student in the Master of Science program in International Hospitality Management (IHM) in The Lesley H. and William L. Collins College of Professional Studies, always planned to pursue a graduate degree, but was unsure which program of study and school he wanted to attend.

“While finishing my bachelor’s degree in business management with a minor in aviation administration at SUNY Farmingdale, I knew it was time to figure out which path I wanted to take,” he said. “With family members in the hospitality industry, I decided that I wanted to earn a degree in hospitality.”

His next decision: where to get that degree. St. John’s master’s program in IHM stood out because it offers classes in an array of different areas. Even though Sean is pursuing a degree in hospitality, he is also considering opportunities in the health-care industry.

“With the events that are happening in the world today, many industries, such as health care, look to the hospitality industry to help transform how things are done,” he said. “I want to be part of this movement, and am confident I will be successful thanks to the education I am receiving at St. John’s University.”
