Elizabeth Ciabocchi, Ed.D., Vice Provost for Digital Learning and Executive Director of Online Learning and Services at St. John’s University, was recently appointed Vice President of the Online Learning Consortium (OLC), a collaborative community of higher education leaders and innovators dedicated to advancing quality digital teaching and learning experiences.
“It is a great privilege to represent St. John’s University and to serve as Vice President of the Board of Directors of OLC,” said Dr. Ciabocchi. “I am indebted to Simon G. Møller, Ph.D., Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, for his support as I take on this new role in 2020.”
Dr. Ciabocchi was appointed Vice Provost for Digital Learning at St. John’s in early 2014 after serving 12 years in the Office of Academic Affairs at Long Island University. Named an OLC Fellow in 2015, she has been a member of the organization’s board since 2016. She served as Board Secretary from 2018 to 2019 and holds an OLC Teaching Certificate (administrative track).
OLC board officers serve one-year terms and can be reelected for a second term.
“I am delighted to welcome this outstanding group of online learning leaders as the new officers of OLC’s Board of Directors,” said Jennifer Mathes, interim Chief Executive Officer of the Online Learning Consortium in a message to the OLC community. “Their guidance will be instrumental in advancing OLC’s strategic agenda.”
