Broadridge Financial Solutions has become the first company to offer The Peter J. Tobin College of Business’s new 18-credit Advanced Certificate in Business Administration program to its employees.

An employee cohort of Broadridge, which provides advanced communications, technology, data and analytics solutions for the financial services industry and businesses, began classes at St. John’s University’s Long Island Graduate Center in Hauppauge this semester. The students are at various stages of their respective careers.

The Certificate combines classroom and experiential learning to develop employees’ knowledge, skills, and competencies. The 18 credits earned for the Certificate, which can be completed in two years, count toward completion of the Master of Business Administration degree master’s degree requirements.

Developed with corporations in mind, courses are offered in the evenings and on weekends. The curriculum is flexible and can be structured to fit the needs of the individual students or – as in the case of Broadridge, working with the Tobin Center for Executive Education – the requirements of the sponsoring company.

“Corporations today seek to train their employees to meet the changing demands of the market, while simultaneously offering a benefit that allows employees to advance their careers,” said Herbert M. Chain, M.B.A., M.S., C.P.A., Executive Director of the Tobin Center for Executive Education. “The Advanced Certificate achieves both of those mutually beneficial goals, and we are pleased to be working with Broadridge and its employees as out first corporate partner.”

Admissions considerations for the Advanced Certificate in Business Administration are based on work experience, veteran status and academic background (including GRE or GMAT waiver consideration). Tuition discounts may be available for employees and the course delivery can be structured to be on site, depending on the size of the cohort.
