Campus Ministry Sponsors Brothers/Sisters Night
St. John’s University Campus Ministry sponsored its second annual Brothers/Sisters Night at the Sunday evening student Mass in St. Thomas More Church on October 2.
The evening’s main purpose was to allow students to socialize and pray with 18 Sisters and 15 Brothers serving the local Church, representing 14 congregations. Those gathered included Marist Brothers, Brothers of the Sacred Heart, De La Salle Christian Brothers, Brothers of Holy Cross, Daughters of Charity, Daughters of St. Paul, Little Sisters of the Poor, Sisters of Life, Sisters of St. Dominic of Amityville, Sisters of St. Joseph of Brentwood, Religious of the Sacred Heart of Mary, Sisters of Our Lady of Sion, Lovers of the Holy Cross, and Sisters of St. Teresa of the Child Jesus.
Luis Ramos, Postulant with the Marist Brothers, shared his vocation story with students after Communion. He reflected on understanding discernment as a prayerful exploration leading to a better understanding of his call to be a Brother.
Throughout the academic year, University Ministry provides opportunities for students to explore their vocation with the invitation to religious life and priesthood.
