St. John’s Receives Edison Bowers Award

October 24, 2016

Gamma Iota Sigma, an internationally distinguished risk management, insurance and actuarial science collegiate professional fraternity, awarded St. John’s the Edison L. Bowers Award at its 45th Annual Conference in October.   Eighteen students from the Alpha Iota chapter represented The Peter J. Tobin College of Business during the three-day convention, proudly receiving this honor for the first time in the chapter’s 25 year history.

The Bowers Award, which is awarded to one chapter each year, is the highest recognition bestowed by the Gamma Iota Sigma organization. The St. John’s chapter was recognized for the depth and quality of its programs during the past academic year.  The members and officers, individually and collectively, exemplify the qualities of service and leadership that the Bowers Award celebrates.
