Beta Alpha Psi Chapter Wins Two National Awards

October 15, 2016

Students from Beta Alpha Psi, the accounting and finance honor society, from the Staten Island campus won two Best Practices awards at the National Conference in Baltimore, MD on August 6, 2016.  One team won first place in the “Good or Great” competition, while the second team won third place in the “Alignment of Officer Activities” competition.  The competition is sponsored by Deloitte.

This was the first time that a Beta Alpha Psi chapter at St. John’s had competed in a National competition.   These two teams were eligible to compete at the National competition by securing earlier wins at the Regional competition in March.  Each team competed against schools from other regions of the country and the world including, University of Notre Dame, University of Denver, San Diego State, University of Sydney (Australia), and others.  The competitions can be viewed at the following link (click on the Kappa Zeta chapter): https://www.efficientlearning.com/cpa/partners/betaalphapsi/student-presentations/
