The Department of Accounting and Taxation, through its Student Affairs Committee, recognizes some of its most outstanding students with sponsored scholarships based on their academic performance, financial needs and service to St. John´s University.

Thanks to the PricewaterhouseCoopers' scholarship fund, on Wednesday, October 23, 2013 partner Stephen Murphy presented awards to three students who are enrolled in the dual degree program: Giuseppe Ferraroand, Daniel O'Leary and Isabella Jendryka, all of whom will be graduating with a master’s degree in May 2015.

During the same occasion, Dr. Gerard Lange, associate professor of accounting and taxation, received the PricewaterhouseCoopers' Faculty Fellowship of Recognition of Teaching Excellence Award.

The KPMG Stanley Shirk and Edward Smith scholarship funds have also enabled us to acknowledge prominent students with $5,000 scholarships. Recipients include: Anneysa Andrews, Thomas Cunningham, Francesca Dimura, Michael Fill, Ilija Huljev, Carla Marian, Zhengnan Miao, Kevin Schlakman, Wai Man Sammi Sy and Quinn Rochford from the Queens Campus.

We will like to once again congratulate our distinguished students and encourage them to keep striving for excellence. We also want to remark our appreciation to the support and generosity of PricewaterhouseCoopers and KPMG whose contributions support the success of St. John´s accounting and taxation programs.
