Thirteen students from the St. John’s Alpha Iota chapter represented the School of Risk Management at the 42nd Annual Gamma Iota Sigma International Conference held at Appalachian State University in Charlotte, North Carolina from October 3 through October 5, 2013 walking away with eight citations including awards for community service, chapter management and alumni relations.

The two-day conference was filled with industry sponsored events, chapter development workshops, a career fair, resume and interview workshops along with informational sessions with representatives from companies such as Lloyd’s, Swiss Re, Towers Watson and Travelers. Additionally, Joey Cheek, 2006 Olympic Gold Medalist, served as a distinguished guest speaker.

The Tobin College of Business continues to encourage our students to attend conferences as not only a unique learning experience but to take advantage of the networking opportunity.
