Dear Students,

As the proud, new President of St. John's University, I am pleased to welcome you to the 2013-2014
academic year.

For those of you who are returning, I am delighted that the University will continue to offer you more opportunities to expand your horizons in the classroom and beyond.

For our new students, this is a time of exciting change and discovery. You will quickly learn how to gain the most from this renowned Catholic and Vincentian institution that is dedicated to helping you meet and exceed all the expectations you may have for your college education.

While I am beginning my new presidency this fall, I am no stranger to the University. In fact, I have a long and productive association with St. John's, having been a trustee for many years. So, I am well aware of the numerous successes our students have enjoyed both while on campus and upon graduation. Our alumni have gained prominence in every walk of life—as accomplished professionals, valued public servants and compassionate service providers.

We are especially excited about this coming academic year. It is a new beginning for all of us! During this past summer, we have welcomed highly qualified new faculty, worked diligently to enhance our facilities, further beautified the campus and provided significant upgrades to our classrooms.

As we begin this new era in the University's history, please know that I will have you in my thoughts and prayers and will always be listening to understand your needs and expectations. We are here to help you whether your concerns are academic, social or spiritual.

Let us look ahead to a glorious year of accomplishment and success both for you and for all members of the St. John's community.

May God bless you all!

Sincerely,

Rev. Joseph L. Levesque, C.M.
President
