Geri Amera joined St. John’s University in 2019 and is the Assistant Provost for Academic Planning and Resource Management. She is responsible for providing leadership for academic planning, budgeting and space management while ensuring effective fiscal management, control, and alignment with the University's strategic priorities.
Before joining St. John’s University, she was the Sr. Director of Administration and Finance at Cornell Tech and was a member of the founding team established in 2012 tasked with developing and building Cornell Tech’s graduate programs and operations. Geri has close to 20 years of experience working in health care, research administration, and higher education including Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, New York Presbyterian Hospital and the Weill Medical College at Cornell University. She received her BS in Biology from the City College of New York and her Masters in Public Administration from New York University. Geri is a native New Yorker. She grew up in and still lives in Queens.
