Sponsor-A-Family

Due to the global pandemic, and based on the directives of the University's Return to Campus Task Force released in the University’s updated plan for our campus reopening, “Preparing for the Fall Semester, Campus Ministry Vincentian service programs on campus are moving to "virtual formats," Please check back regularly for updated opportunities and efforts that will be offered.

Christmas is a time of hope and compassion. We can honor the spirit of the season by embracing St. Vincent de Paul’s call to serve those in need,  “Let us Love God with the strength of our arms and the sweat of our brow.”

The Office of Campus Ministry cordially invites students, faculty and staff to support the Annual Sponsor A Family program. As we partner with the St. John’s Bread and Life Soup Kitchen, Sponsor A Family delivers food, clothing and toys to families facing difficult circumstances this Christmas. The St. John’s Bread and Life Program hopes to serve food to more than 2,000 families and provide warm winter gear to approximately 1,000 individuals this season.

Bread and Life is located in the Bedford-Stuyvesant section of Brooklyn and was founded in 1982 as a ministry of the Daughters of Charity and the Vincentian Fathers. The organization is sponsored by St. John’s University.
