Emergency Services

Is it an emergency? If there is a situation that causes interruption of utilities, damage, creates a hazard to life, compromises security, or causes sufficient disruption to scheduled activities.  Some examples of emergencies are:

  • gas leak
  • glass replacement affecting safety or security
  • too hot or cold
  • plumbing leaks or floods
  • roof leaks
  • lock problems affecting safety or security
  • elevator issues
  • shattered windows (not just cracked)
  • utility outage or malfunction (gas, electric, water)

We will respond as quickly as possible to stabilize the situation and prevent further damage.

What to do first
The first course of action during normal work hours is to call the Facilities Service Center so they can direct the calls/issues to the appropriate personnel.

For Queens
Ext. 6253 or 6254 (Mon – Fri:  7 a.m. – 7 p.m.)
The department number automatically transfers to Public Safety after hours.

For Staten Island
Ext. 4478 (Mon – Fri:  8 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
Ext. 4487 (After hours and weekends)

For Manhattan
Ext. 8591 (Mon – Fri:  8 a.m. – 10 p.m.)
(Saturday 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.)
