January Database Training at the Queens Library

The Queens Library will be hosting two database training sessions in January which are open to the entire University community.  Each session will take place in St. Augustine Hall, Room 412 of the Queens Library, and advance reservations are required.  The sessions include:

  • CSA Illumina - the interface which offers access to more that 100 natural science, social science, arts & humanities and technology databases published by CSA, CSA Illumina is designed to provide a simple, more user-friendly approach to searching for novice users while maintaining powerful options for users who require more.  The session will be presented by Sharon Stillwagon, CSA Training and Information Specialist on January 25, 2007 at 2:10pm.
  • Bowker Books in Print and Ulrich's Web - the latest enhancements in these Bowker products will be the topic of this information session, led by Bob Gerace on January 30, 2007 at 11am.  The overview will include Books in Print's Advanced Search Strategies, Book Reviews and Awards, and BIP Alert, a saved search that automatically sends email updates.  Additionally, Ulrich's Web search strategies will be discussed, as well as using Browse Indices, linking to full-text articles and linking to journal partners such as Serial Solutions.
