The mission of the St. John's University Office of Student
Health Services is to maintain an optimal level of well being among
all members of our university community.
Health centers are available to all students on the following
campuses:
Treatment of minor illnesses or injuries and information for
local health care providers can be obtained in this office.
Information regarding health issues, physical examination and
immunization requirements as well as insurance information and
claim forms is also available.
The nurses and support staff adhere to the ethical principles and
codes of professional practice including patient confidentiality,
privacy, dignity and informed consent. Information is not revealed
to any source outside the health service, without the individual’s
informed consent. The only exception would be in cases of extreme
urgency. These policies conform to legal statutes concerning the
release of confidential information when required by state or
federal law.

In the case of an on-campus
emergency where you cannot come to the
Health
Center, or when the office is not open, contact the
Office of Public Safety, ext. 6281
(Queens) or ext. 4487 (Staten Island).
They will be able to assist and contact an ambulance as
necessary. |
