The Department of Student Wellness has created opportunities for
students to cultivate their leadership skills while learning about
Wellness.
Taking responsibility for one's own wellness, as well as serving
for a model for others, is a cornerstone of leadership that we
promote.
Students who are passionate about learning about health and
wellness and sharing their knowledge with their fellow students can
gain experience that will serve them through their college years
and later in life.
The Wellness Peer Educators are a team of students who are
specially trained to offer workshops and create promotional events
throughout the year. They spread the word in a fun way about
alcohol and other drug use, smoking, balanced living, healthy
relationships and eating well among other topics.
The Stressbusters offer their fellow students free backrubs and
impart information about stress reduction techniques and resources
on campus. They have been specially trained in this
technique. They create and attend events where students
gather to learn in a fun and enjoyable setting.
All these students serve as our SWELL Ambassadors of Wellness.
