The Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) posted a
traveller’s update regarding recent outbreaks of measles and
mumps.
“Ongoing outbreaks of measles and mumps in several other
countries highlight the importance of ensuring that all travelers
(regardless of destination) are protected before departure. In May
2006, a measles outbreak was reported in Australia. Recent measles
outbreaks have also been reported from and may be ongoing in:
Denmark, Greece, Kenya, Poland, Spain, Sweden, Ukraine, and
Venezuela. Recent outbreaks of mumps have also been reported among
adolescents and young adults in the United States and United
Kingdom. “
