The mission of Health Services is to
maintain an optimal level of well being among all members of our
university community.
Treatment of minor illnesses or injuries
and information for local health care providers can be obtained in
this office. Information regarding health issues, physical
examination and immunization requirements as well as insurance
information and claim forms is also available.
The nurses and support staff adhere to
the ethical principles and codes of professional practice including
patient confidentiality, privacy, dignity and informed consent.
Information is not revealed to any source outside the health
service, without the individuals informed consent. The only
exception would be in cases of extreme urgency. These policies
conform to legal statutes concerning the release of confidential
information when required by state or federal law.
Students involved in an emergency
situation requiring medical attention should notify Health &
Wellness Services or Public Safety at ext. 4487. In the event of an
on-campus emergency, if the office is closed, contact the Public
Safety Office directly at 390-4487.
Any individual with a chronic illness,
severe allergies or on a strict regimen of medication should give
the information to Health & Wellness Services so that we may be
aware of the particulars and be better able to serve the needs of
the individual.
