The Counseling Center conducts programs in:
- Study skills
- Test-taking strategy and time-management
- Conflict resolution and peer relations
Group counseling activities are offered throughout the year. The Center works in conjuction with other student personnel services offices to provide information presentations in health, career development and interpersonal relations. Even though joint programs are run with other offices, our standards of complete student confidentiality are always of utmost concern.

- Graduate school financial aid and scholarship assistance
Confidentiality
The Counseling Center staff maintains strict professional confidentiality as outlined by the ethical guidelines of the American Psychological Association and the New York State Department of Education. Information will be released only with your written consent or as may be required by law.
Other Helpful Activities
Throughout the year, the staff at the Counseling Center is available both to faculty and student organizations for lectures, group presentations and workshops. Counselors are available to discuss:
- Family conflicts and bereavement
- Interpersonal interaction
- Shyness
- Gambling
- Substance abuse
- Alcohol dependency and/or co-dependency
These are sensitive issues. As such, they are handled in an informative, yet discreet manner. At times, experts in a particular area are invited to provide personal and professional information. If students would like to be informed of these ongoing programs, they should stop by the Counseling Center for a schedule of events. Group counseling is also offered to those students wishing to experience the benefits of peer group communication in selected topics.
