Self Assessment
In making the transition from your undergraduate experience to the world of work or graduate school, reflect on the knowledge you have accumulated in reference to your values, interests, personality and skills. Understand how and why they may have changed over time, and make decisions that reflect those changes.

  • Engage in conversation with a career counselor academic advisor and trusted others to discuss your transition from college into the world of work
  • Match your job offers to your needs values and interests  

Career Awareness
Become aware of the current job market. What are the hiring projections for your target industries.

  • Make a list of employers who hire college graduates in your field
  • Review the graduate school application process for deadline dates
  • Tell everyone you are graduating and looking for employment  

Career Exploration
Fine tune your resume and what you have to offer employers.

  • Continue to participate in internships and part time jobs to build your marketable skills and experience
  • Consider participating in Discover the World or a semester abroad.   

Job Search
An investment of your time and energy will be necessary to conduct an effective job search. Be patient, yet productive in your search.

  • Participate in Campus Recruiting Program
  • Attend all applicable Career Expos and Fairs, employer panels and presentations
  • Send resumes and cover letters to prospective employers and set up interviews on your own
  • Attend a Dining Etiquette Seminar
