On Wednesday, March 24, 2010 over 100 alumni and students
attended the Tobin College of Business Alumni Association (TCBAA)
and the Career Center LinkedIn Presentation on the Queens campus.
The program provided valuable guidance and insight on how to use
this popular professional networking site in the most appropriate
ways to enhance an individual's professional development.

The attendees listened intently to presentations from a variety
of speakers, including:
Norman V. Jardine '69C, '73MBA
Board Member
TCBAA
Thomas Lassandro
Consultant, Technology Marketing Lifecycle
B2B Marketing Strategist
Brian Tietje
Strategic Account Executive
LinkedIn Corporation
With many St. John's University alumni, students, faculty and staff
already present on LinkedIn, Jardine recognized both a need and an
opportunity to provide the most up-to-date information about this
valuable networking resource. "TCBAA was pleased to co-sponsor this
event with the Career Center," he said. "Our goal was to allow our
students and alumni to learn as much as they could about this
social media tool while enjoying face-to-face networking
opportunities right here on campus."

"The presenters were very informative, showing me endless
possibilities available on this site," said Jean Marie Quinn, a
senior in St. John's The Peter J. Tobin College of Business. "I
will definitely put in the recommended hours per week to further my
career opportunities by growing my network"
The hour-long presentation concluded with a question and answer
period, followed by a networking reception offering students and
alumni a chance for casual social interaction. "It was great to see
so many students and alumni who were interested in this
presentation and in joining our organization," remarked Mark
Ventimiglia '81CBA, '83MBA, President, TCBAA. "We are always
looking for new Board members as well as creative ideas to move the
Association forward with valuable programming like this."
The next TCBAA event will be the Annual Networking Reception, to be
held on Thursday, April 29, 2010 at the Inn at New Hyde Park.
