The reception provided the perfect opportunity for many to
reunite with old friends, while supporting the Red Storm. “I
enjoy these receptions and love catching up with fellow alumni,”
commented Keith Peterson ’80SVC. “You never know who you will
meet and I always have a fun time.”
Younger alumni who are now reengaging with the University also
found it a new and satisfying experience. “The reception was
very entertaining and I greatly enjoyed attending. It was very nice
to have the opportunity to meet and speak with many alumni,” said
Michelle Duffy ’02P. “I am interested in attending future
events now that I experienced this one.”
Whether first-time participants or old friends, the alumni
approved of the evening’s energy-filled environment and not only
reconnected with each other but took the opportunity to reconnect
with the University as well. Bill Lipson, assistant director,
alumni relations and Bill Schaeffer ’73CBA, director of alumni
relations shared about some of the upcoming events including Alumni Reunion 2008
on the weekend of June 13-15 and the St. Patrick’s Day
Breakfast and Parade on Monday, March 17.
These receptions, sponsored by the Office of Alumni Relations,
are held annually in conjunction with select men’s basketball home
games. The next reception will be held on March 1 in Queens,
NY before the St. John’s vs. Seton Hall University game.
