First-year students should have already met with their freshman
advisor to discuss class selection for the Spring 2008
semester. It is during this session that advisors explain and
review the various courses required for the next semester.
Our advisors review the online registration process with each
student to ensure that they are familiar with the steps necessary
to choose the correct courses. If students have any questions
about classes, please remind them to contact their advisor
immediately.
In addition, all students are reminded about the various support
services provided by the University, such as the Tutoring Center,
Writing Center and Math Resource Center. With final exams
rapidly approaching, we suggest that they consider forming study
groups. Support from fellow classmates can be very
beneficial!
On October 23 on the Queens campus and October 18 on the Staten
Island campus, the Career Center and the University
Freshman Center co-hosted the annual Majors Fair. This
well-attended event provided students with the opportunity to
explore the many majors which the University offers. Faculty
from every school and college of the University were present to
answer student inquiries.
As always, feel free to contact us on the Queens campus at (718)
990-5858, 5809 or 2772 or on the Staten Island campus at (718)
990-4090 or 4438 if you have any questions or concerns.
