A Letter from the Parent Association

Dear Parents and Family Members,
Welcome to the Fall 2008 semester at St. John's University! It was wonderful meeting many of you this summer during out Parent and Family Orientation. The purpose of the Family Association is to help you connect with the St. John’s community while your son or daughter is in school. To do this, we have planned lots of great events for you this semester.

St. John's University prides itself on being a Catholic, Vincentian, and Metropolitan university. The Family Association is committed to developing events that are consistent with these values. For example, on September 27, 2008 the Parent Association will participate in University Service Day. On this day, the university community will spend time completing various service projects in the area. St. John’s believes in the importance of service and social responsibility.

As a parent or family member of a student attending a metropolitan university, you should have the opportunity to experience the New York City and all it has to offer. The Family Association will be sponsoring events such as trips to see a Broadway show and a Spirit Cruise around Manhattan.

If you have not already registered for the Family Association, please contact me so I can put you on our list. If you have, watch your e-mail for more information about upcoming events. As always, if there is anything I can do for you please do not hesitate to contact me.

I look forward to seeing you at our Family Association events!

Sincerely,

Lauren Harding
