Emergency Readiness and Identifying and Responding to Employees in Distress (Required Program for Managers)

This two-part program intended for managers is covered in a single training session.

Module I: Emergency Readiness
is conducted by the Office of Public Safety and describes the University's emergency response plan. It reviews systems of communication and notification to the University community in the event of an emergency, and describes appropriate protocol in an evacuation or stay in place situation.

Module II: Identifying and Responding to Employees in Distress
is conducted by the Office of Student Wellness. In this part of the program, managers will learn: potential signs, symptoms and responses of distress; tips for prevention; guidelines for confidentiality; and how to defuse potentially volatile employee situations.

Managers are defined as administrators who supervise other administrators or staff (not those who supervise only students).
