Journal of International and Comparative Law

St. John’s Journal of International and Comparative Law (JICL) is a student-edited online journal featuring scholarly articles and student notes and comments on emergent issues of international and comparative law. Published biannually, JICL offers a dynamic forum where members of the academy, the bar and the judiciary, as well as Journal members, publish articles and essays of timely concern on nearly any legal issue that touches on international, comparative or transnational topics. Members have the opportunity to work under the guidance of the Journal's faculty advisors and editors to produce a work of publishable quality for consideration by JICL and the New York International Law Review.

Journal members may be considered for third-year positions on the Journal's Board of Editors. As editors, students have the opportunity to gain leadership skills, work closely with faculty members, participate in selecting articles for publication, and network with leaders in the field. Editors receive academic credit for their work on the Journal.

JICL is the official student publication of the St. John’s Center for International and Comparative Law (CICL), where students, scholars and practicing lawyers come together to address how globalization affects the practice of law and how the law can be deployed to address emerging global challenges. Through the broad range of curricular offerings, study abroad programs offered by the Office of Transnational Programs, experiential learning opportunities, symposia and the participation of students in scholarly work, CICL helps prepare students for practice in a globalizing legal profession, using litigation, transactional and regulatory advisory skills.
