Multilingual Legal Advocates

The Multilingual Legal Advocates (MLA) at St. John's School of Law seek to identify and pair up multilingual law students with volunteer opportunities requiring the communication of law to foreign language speakers. MLA not only helps St. John's law students maintain valuable language skills and advocates a global perspective on law, but serves the greater need of assisting non-English speakers in need of support.

We also encourage participation in law-related language enrichment classes and workshops, promote the exploration of in-semester and summer study abroad programs, host speakers on topics relating to multilingualism and the law, and partner with a variety of other SJU Law organizations to host events. MLA's ultimate aim is tohelp Law School graduates serve a more diverse clientele.
