Justinian (Italian-American) Law Society (JSL)

The Justinian Law Society (JSL) at St. John's School of Law represents students of Italian heritage as well as those interested in Italian culture and values. Our activities are designed to enhance the educational, cultural, professional, charitable and social well being of our members and the entire Law School community. JSL seeks to promote the history and accomplishments of great Italians and Italian-Americans by sponsoring informative and entertaining speakers, fundraisers and social gatherings. We also participate in regional and national organizations that provide members with valuable networking opportunities. Activities have included a sports memorabilia auction that raised over $6,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Additionally, the Justinians select an Italian-American who has made a significant contribution to the legal profession and Italian culture and community. The individual is honored at the annual alumni dinner and presented with the Vacarius Award named after the celebrated Roman jurist.
