The School of Education at St. John’s University offers well-renowned programs in four academic departments: Curriculum and Instruction, Education Specialties, Counselor Education, and Administration and Instructional Leadership. These programs are at the master, advanced certificate, and doctoral levels. St. John’s College of Liberal Arts and Sciences offers a School Psychology program at the master of science level.
Thomas P. Dolan, Ed.D.
Thomas P. Dolan, Ed.D., Director of the Long Island Graduate Center, recently joined The School of Education at St. John’s University following a term as interim President of Nassau Community College in Garden City, NY. Prior to that, he served as Superintendent in the Great Neck Public Schools and Franklin Square Union Free School District. He was also Principal of Cold Spring Harbor Junior/Senior High School, an Assistant Superintendent for Personnel in Manhasset Public Schools, Principal of H. Frank Carey High School, Director of Personnel in Sewanhaka Central High School District, a Dean and Social Studies teacher at George W. Hewlett High School, and a Social Studies teacher in Canastota, NY. Dr. Dolan earned his Ed.D. degree from Hofstra University. He has served as an adjunct faculty member at Queens College, LIU Post, and Hofstra University.
