Explore the cultural landscape of Paris this summer while learning French!
Imagine yourself immersed in la Ville Lumière as a student in one of Europe's greatest and most influential capital cities! Some of the most significant historical events of the modern era have taken place on Parisian soil, and our own history owes a great deal of debt to French political and philosophical influences. Through these extraordinary summer programs you will experience firsthand this wondrous city that has inspired centuries of poets, philosophers, artists and revolutionaries throughout the world.
Relax at a café or brasserie, spend an afternoon at one of many local parks, take a stroll along the Seine, or enjoy a pastry at one of Paris’s world renowned pâtisseries, all while learning to converse with the locals. This year’s summer programs allow you to taste the unique character that is Paris - including places like the Louvre, Notre Dame Cathedral, the Musee d’Orsay, and the breathtaking Eiffel Tower.
Paris has some of the most distinctive – and most studied – social mores in the world. From les bises (the kisses you give someone upon meeting up), to café etiquette, the City of Light offers a social and cultural background unlike any other. Your study of French language, history, and culture will be enhanced by exploration of Paris’s 20 neighborhoods, known as arrondissements, where you’ll experience the diverse milieus of the city, from intimate crêperie to landmarks of “tourist” Paris, such as the Eiffel Tower.
Students will have the option either to live on campus or with a local family. See below for more information on housing options.
