Law Librarian Joseph Hinger Teaches the Latest Cataloging Methods in El Salvador (Sept. 2010):
Four years ago Joseph Hinger, Associate Director for Technical Services at the Rittenberg Law Library, participated in St. John’s inaugural
Vincentian Mission Certificate program
. After engaging in a curriculum focused on the practical expression of Vincentian service and leadership, Hinger came away with a strong commitment to use his expertise in librarianship and technical services to help colleagues in developing countries throughout Latin America.

VMC Participants Lend a Helping Hand in New Orleans (August 2008):
A team of seven members of St. John’s University’s Vincentian Mission Certificate (VMC) program recently traveled to New Orleans to aid in the ongoing efforts to rebuild the city. Through New Orleans’
Habitat for Humanity
, the
National Consortium for Academics and Sports
(NCAS) and
Hope for Stanley Foundation
, the group volunteered their services to build new homes and restore damaged recreational facilities in the local community. They also toured the Lower Ninth Ward, the area most affected by the catastrophic flooding following Hurricane Katrina.

Tobin Deans and Staff Complete VMC Program (May 2008):
On April 24th, four Tobin College Deans and staff members including Assistant Dean and Director of Academic Advisement, Douglas Leary, and Assistant to the Dean, Michele Dell’Anno, along with staff members Regina Demery and Jane O’Shea, received recognition for completing the Vincentian Mission Certificate Program (VMCP).

Cohort 1 Graduation Ceremony (April 2008):
On April 24, 2008, the VMC Program held a graduation ceremony for their inaugural cohort in Council Hall on the Queens campus of St. John's University. The 58 graduates represented the Queens and Staten Island campuses. Father Michael Carroll, C.M., Executive Vice President for Mission and Branch Campuses, was instrumental in the creation of the VMC.
