Peter J. Boettke is a professor of economics and philosophy at George Mason University and Director of the F.A. Hayek Program for Advanced Study in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at the Mercatus Center.



He is an accomplished author of numerous books and articles, including Why Perestroika Failed (1993), Calculation and Coordination (2001), Challenging Institutional Analysis and Development (2009), and Living Economics: Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow (2012). 



Mr. Boette received his PhD in economics from George Mason University in 1989. Before joining the faculty at George Mason University in 1998, Boettke taught at New York University. Prof. Boetttke was a National Fellow at the Hoover Institution at Stanford University (1992) and the F. A. Hayek Fellow (2004, 2006) at the London School of Economics.
